Berliner Wasserbetriebe

Berliner Wasserbetriebe

Berliner Wasserbetriebe (BWB) supplies the city of Berlin with drinking water, operates a total of nine waterworks and is in charge of wastewater treatment at six sewage plants. After completion of a several-year-long pilot test at the Waßmannsdorf sewage plant, BWB implemented the first large-scale system of phosphate recovery from digested sludge in 2006. P.C.S. was actively involved in this development from the very beginning on. In 2006 we were granted the exclusive right to introduce this process on the market under our own name and install it at sewage plants outside of Berlin.

Over the years, Berliner Wasserbetriebe and P.C.S. have shared technical information on a partnership basis. Since then P.C.S. has realised several national and international projects.

In view of the experience P.C.S. has gained over the years in relation to the process, we were a natural choice to partner the planned redesigning of the original reactor in Berlin. The aim was to fully automate the discharge process of the MAP generated.

At the beginning of 2017 P.C.S. was asked to take the lead in planning the conversion.

In line with the HOAI [Official Scale of Fees for Services by Architects and Engineers] service phases we are preparing the design documents and implementation planning concerning the automatic MAP discharge, incl. L.V. texts on behalf of Berliner Wasserbetriebe in close consultation with BWB’s specialist departments.

In line with the HOAI [Official Scale of Fees for Services by Architects and Engineers] service phases we are preparing the design documents and implementation planning concerning the automatic MAP discharge, incl. L.V. texts on behalf of Berliner Wasserbetriebe. All planning steps are closely co-ordinated with the specialist departments in charge at BWB. We believe that co-operation based on trust is a key factor to ensure the success of any project.

We currently have no new information about the project as it is still in its infancy. However we will keep you updated – step by step. Just check back every once in a while.
